NANS Plans Nationwide Prayers in Churches and Mosques to Celebrate Independence Day

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is organizing prayers in mosques and churches to celebrate Nigeria's 64th Independence Day on October 1, 2024. NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, announced that prayers will take place in campuses nationwide on Friday and Sunday, aiming to seek divine guidance for the nation and its leaders.

As Nigeria approaches its 64th Independence Day, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has announced plans for a series of prayers to be held in mosques and churches across the country. NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, shared these details during a press conference in Abuja on September 26, 2024.

The prayers are scheduled for Friday in mosques and Sunday in churches, with a focus on tertiary institutions nationwide. Emonefe emphasized that the initiative aims to seek divine intervention for Nigeria, urging God to protect the nation, guide its leaders, and help the country realize its full potential.

In addition to the prayers, NANS has organized a nationwide rally on Independence Day, Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Emonefe called on all student leaders across Nigerian campuses to participate, stating, “I hereby direct all our comrade leaders across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria to convene special Friday prayers in mosques to pray for this great country.”

The planned events will include mass rallies on major campuses, street carnivals, a Know-Your-Country quiz, and cultural displays. Students will also gather simultaneously at Unity Fountain in Abuja and Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, to commemorate the 64th Independence Day.
