NCS Borno Chapter to Partner UMTH on ICT Development and Digital Innovation

Members of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Borno State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Engineer Adam Bukar Bababe have paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, to strengthen collaboration in ICT development, digital innovation, professional capacity building, and ICT professionalism.

The Chief Medical Director who welcomed the initiative pledged the Hospital's support in encouraging ICT-related staff to register with the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria) (CPN).

He highlighted the Hospital's remarkable achievements, describing UMTH as Nigeria's first fully digitalized and automated teaching hospital, with  more than one thousand five hundred-bed capacity, and the first institution in the country to introduce a National Diploma programme in ICT in Medical Practice.

Professor Ahidjo reaffirmed the Hospital's commitment to partnering with NCS on ICT training and capacity-building initiatives.

As part of the visit, the CMD conducted the delegation round the Hospital's ICT Centre and other digital facilities, showcasing the innovations that have positioned UMTH as a leader in digital healthcare.

The visit concluded with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to advancing ICT, innovation, and professional excellence in Borno State.
