This announcement was made in a press release signed by Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC. The competition focuses on the theme “Digital Public Infrastructure: Enabling Access to Services.”

In the statement, NIMC invited pupils from primary schools, as well as students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions, to participate in the competition. Participants are required to create a NIMC logo and submit a concept explanation of up to 200 words. The competition seeks to highlight the significance of legal identity as a fundamental right for every Nigerian and legal resident.

Participants are required to design a logo for NIMC and provide a brief explanation that covers various aspects such as the national identification number (NIN), school/institution name, class/level, design approach, inspiration, advantages over the existing logo, graphic style, typography, and colors. Entries should be submitted in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format via email to idday2024@nimc.gov.ng with “Logo Design” as the subject.
According to NIMC, the competition aims to celebrate individual creativity and identity, with a rigorous verification process in place to ensure originality. Notably, NIMC staff and their family members are ineligible to participate, and joint submissions are permitted. Late entries will not be accepted, and there is no fee for participation.
The deadline for submissions is August 16 at 4 PM. Winners from each category will have the opportunity to attend the Identity Day event in Abuja on September 16, where they will receive awards presented by the director-general of NIMC.
