OGITECH Secures NBTE Approval to Launch National Diploma in Artificial Intelligence

The Ogun State Institute of Technology, OGITECH, Igbesa, has received approval from the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, to commence a National Diploma programme in Artificial Intelligence.

In a letter signed by the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, the Board granted the approval following a thorough evaluation of the institution’s capacity to deliver a cutting-edge AI curriculum.

The new programme is designed with a strong emphasis on practical and hands-on training. Students will be exposed to advanced programming, digital systems, microcontrollers, state-of-the-art AI laboratory work, and a comprehensive capstone project.

To ensure quality delivery, NBTE’s approval came after OGITECH completed an extensive training and upskilling programme for its lecturers and technologists. The initiative was aimed at equipping academic staff to teach to international standards.

The Rector of OGITECH, Dr Abiodun Oluseye, described the milestone as a testament to the Management’s commitment to staff development, resource provision, and positioning the Institute at the forefront of modern technical education.
