Northwest University, Kano Mourns the Loss of Professor Harun Al-Rashid Yusuf

Northwest University, Kano (NWU) is saddened to announce the passing of Professor Harun Al-Rashid Yusuf, a renowned academic and pioneer in the Department of Languages.

Professor Yusuf was a distinguished Professor of Linguistics with extensive teaching experience in universities within and outside Nigeria. He played a crucial role in the development of the Department of Languages, previously comprising English, Arabic, and Hausa, and was the first Head of the department.

The university community remembers Professor Yusuf as a mentor and pioneer who made significant contributions to the growth and development of the institution. He was the first academic to be promoted to the rank of Professor by NWU.

The university extends its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Professor Yusuf, praying that Allah SWT forgives his shortcomings and grants him Jannatul Firdaus.
