Northwest University Kano Mourns the Passing of Academic and Qur’anic Excellence, Khadija Kabiru Abdullahi

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the transition of Khadija Kabiru Abdullahi, an exceptional young scholar and a 2025 graduate of Northwest University, Kano (NWUK). Her passing marks the loss of a brilliant mind whose life was a testament to the harmonious blend of academic merit and spiritual devotion.

Khadija earned her Bachelor of Science in Education (Physics) in 2025, leaving behind a reputation at the Northwest University Faculty of Education as a disciplined, focused, and high-achieving student.

Beyond the classroom, she was a celebrated Hafiza, having completed the memorization of the Holy Qur’an in 2017 at the Sheikh Khalifa Ishaq Rabiu School. Her mastery of the scripture led her to numerous accolades, including:

First Position (Izzu 10): Ganduje Foundation Qur’anic Competition (2017).

Khadija’s journey through Government Girls Secondary School, Dangana, and Government Girls Army Day Secondary School, Bukavu Barracks, was defined by humility and an unwavering commitment to her studies. She was widely admired by peers and lecturers alike for her modesty, respect, and the exemplary upbringing reflected in her daily life.

The University community extends its deepest condolences to her parents and family. Having supported her through years of rigorous study and spiritual training, her departure—just as she began to reap the fruits of her hard work—is a source of immense grief.

May Allah (SWT) grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus and provide her family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
