NOUN Appoints New Directors as Leadership Changes Take Effect at Three Study Centres

The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, has recorded another round of leadership transitions following the appointment of new directors for some study centres in the North-Central region.
The affected centres are the NURTW Special Study Centre, Garki, Abuja; the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Police, Dei-Dei, Abuja; and the Offa Community Study Centre, Kwara State.
The changes followed a directive by the University Management contained in a memo signed by the Registrar and dated August 4, 2026, announcing the appointment of new Centre Directors for various study centres nationwide.
According to the memo, the redeployment and new appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the University to strengthen administrative efficiency, improve service delivery and enhance the learning experience at study centres across the country.
University Management stated that the new directors are expected to provide effective leadership, ensure compliance with NOUN’s academic and operational guidelines, and deepen engagement with host communities and partner institutions.
The NURTW Special Study Centre, Garki, and the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Police, Dei-Dei, serve specific professional groups and are key to NOUN’s mandate of expanding access to education through flexible and inclusive delivery models. The Offa Community Study Centre also plays a critical role in providing Open and Distance Learning, ODL, opportunities to residents of Offa and its environs.
Stakeholders at the affected centres have been urged to accord the new directors the necessary support to enable them to succeed in their assignments.
The appointments take immediate effect.
