NOUN Expands Academic Portfolio; New Banking & Finance, Accounting, and Political Science Programs Approved

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is set to expand its academic offerings following the official approval of several new postgraduate programs by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

In an internal memo issued today, January 20, 2026, the Deputy Registrar of the Academic Registry, Petu Bola Keji, directed the Director of Management Information Systems (MIS) to immediately enlist the new programs on the university portal to facilitate student registration.

The newly approved programs span the Faculties of Management Sciences and Social Sciences, and include offerings at the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels:

The memo emphasizes that these additions are crucial for enhancing the university's curriculum and meeting the demands of the Nigerian labor market.

The directive, issued on behalf of the Registrar and with the approval of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), calls for urgent action from the MIS division to ensure visibility and accessibility on the official university website.
