NSUK Hosts 6th SHEN International Conference on Food Security and Human Ecology

Nasarawa State University (NSUK) recently hosted the 6th International Conference of the Society for Human Ecologists in Nigeria (SHEN).
The conference, themed "Food Security, Agriculture, and Human Ecology in a Changing Environment," brought together key stakeholders to discuss pressing issues related to food security, agricultural practices, and the challenges posed by global warming.
The Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo, emphasized the importance of food security to national stability and commended the Faculty of Agriculture for their diligence.
The National President of SHEN, Professor Elizabeth Mngusen Kembe, thanked NSUK management for hosting the conference and highlighted the significance of addressing agricultural challenges in the context of human ecology.
Keynote speaker Professor Keziah V. Absalom stressed the need for proactive measures to ensure long-term food security in anticipation of the projected population increase by 2050. The conference provided a platform for experts to share knowledge and insights on food security, agriculture, and human ecology.
