Underscoring the importance of digital technology in contemporary society, Prof. Popoola admonished the inductees to exhibit digital competence as an integral part of their profession. He emphasised the need for teachers to make effective use of Artificial Intelligence, AI, as a complementary tool rather than considering it as a threat to the teaching profession.

His words: "Professional teachers promote digital literacy, not digital dependence. Your pupils and students will use AI with or without your guidance. Your responsibility is to teach them how to use AI responsibly to verify facts, question sources, recognize bias, and to understand that creativity and integrity cannot be outsourced to a machine."

In her remarks, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of TRCN, Dr. Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, represented by the Director of Certification and Licensing, TRCN Abuja, Mr. Abimbola Okunola, congratulated the inductees for passing the Professional Qualifying Examination and choosing the teaching profession as a career.

The TRCN boss described teaching as the mother of all professions and admonished the new entrants to consider it as a calling rather than a job.
