NSUK Hosts External Advisory Board Meeting for Groundbreaking Medical Geology Research Center

On Friday, May 17th, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, attended the External Advisory Board meeting of the Jose A Centeno International Center for Medical Geology Research.

During the meeting, Professor Liman pledged institutional support for the center, which is set to commence academic activities in the next three months.

The Jose A Centeno Center, situated within NSUK, is the first of its kind in the world and has already received studentship requests from over 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Australia, Pakistan, Colombia, USA, Kenya, and Ghana.

In attendance at the meeting were two founding fathers of Medical Geology, Professor Robert Barry Finkelman (USA) and Professor Dr. Jose Centeno (USA), as well as Dr. Diego Fridman (Argentina), immediate past President of the International Medical Geology Association (IMGA), and Professor Chaosheng Zhang (Ireland), current IMGA President. Apologies were received from Professor Ibrahim Katampe of Central State University, Ohio, USA.
