In a significant move to promote academic collaboration and advance the study of Islamic Finance, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the leadership of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The MoU aims to establish a partnership focusing on collaborative research and the development of Islamic Finance programs.

The signing ceremony took place at Langkawi Island, Malaysia, during the 2nd International Conference on Islamic Financial Literacy, held from October 2nd to 3rd, 2024, at the Adyan Hotel, Langkawi. This partnership marks a new chapter in academic collaboration between the two institutions and is seen as a pivotal step toward enhancing knowledge in the field of Islamic Finance, particularly in North Central Nigeria.

The Nasarawa State University delegation, led by Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, included key academic figures such as the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, and senior lecturers from the Department of Islamic and Development Studies, including Associate Professor Muhammad Alhasan Yunus, Professor Rashidah Funke Olarinwaju, and Associate Professor Yusuf Alhaji Usman.
