NSUK VC Prof. Liman Calls for Skill Acquisition to Fight Student Unemployment
Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman emphasizes the importance of skill acquisition for self-employment during an exhibition organized by the Entrepreneurship Studies Department at NSUK.
In a recent exhibition organized by the Entrepreneurship Studies Department at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, urged students to acquire skills that will help them tackle unemployment in Nigeria.
Addressing the audience, Professor Liman highlighted the necessity for students to prepare for the job market by learning practical skills that can lead to self-employment. She stated, “In today’s Nigeria, as a student, it is important to learn a skill that will prepare you ahead so that after graduation, you will be able to set up your own business and start earning while searching for any job of your choice.”
Emphasizing the potential of skill acquisition, she encouraged students to practice their learned skills to the extent that they could become employers of labor. “I can assure you that with the skills you have acquired, you are already on the way to taking Nigeria to greater heights,” she added.
