FUTA Alumnus, Dr. Adeleke, Named Among World's Top 2% Scientists

Dr. Bartholomew Adeleke, an alumnus of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally in a recent report by Elsevier/Stanford University, released on September 16, 2024. This prestigious recognition underscores Dr. Adeleke’s impactful contributions to the field of Plant Biology and Botany, where he ranked 192,742 globally and 3,452 out of 174,582 scholars within the specialized field.
The report, which highlights influential researchers based on scientific publications and citation metrics, marks a significant milestone in Dr. Adeleke’s academic career. With 32 Scopus-indexed publications, his research on soil-plant-microbe interactions has gained significant attention, especially in agricultural science and environmental studies.
Dr. Adeleke’s academic journey began at Adekunle Ajasin University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 2011. He later pursued a Master’s degree in Food Microbiology at FUTA in 2017, followed by a Doctoral degree at North-West University, South Africa, specializing in soil and plant microbiomes. His research is focused on enhancing crop yields and soil fertility through bioinoculants, addressing key global food security challenges.
Currently a Lecturer II at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Dr. Adeleke also mentors students and is a member of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA). He expressed his gratitude to his supporters for their role in his success, dedicating this achievement to them.
