The Student Union Government (SUG) of Plateau State University, Bokkos, has issued a public advisory urging students to confirm the safety of their personal belongings left on campus at the end of the last semester. The call comes as the academic calendar for the upcoming semester has yet to be announced.

In a statement released on October 14, 2024, Dawam K. Richard, the Public Relations Officer of the SUG, emphasized the importance of checking on valuables, personal effects, and essential items left in hostels. The SUG advised students to reach out to their hostel representatives, classmates, or fellow students who may have access to the campus to verify the status of their belongings.

"As the academic calendar for the next semester is yet to be released, it is crucial that students take the initiative to confirm the safety of their possessions. We are working closely with the school management to ensure a smooth transition into the new semester," the statement read.

The SUG reassured students that updates regarding the academic calendar and resumption date will be provided as soon as they are available. Meanwhile, the well-being and security of students' properties remain a priority for the SUG.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the resumption date, the SUG continues to engage with university authorities to address student concerns and ensure a smooth start to the new semester.
