University of Abuja Hosts US Cultural Attaché Ahead of Fulbright Scholarship Workshop

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) recently welcomed the United States cultural attaché, Brian Neubert, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patricia Manko Lar. The visit came ahead of a workshop on Fulbright scholarship applications for staff and students of the University.

 

Professor Lar praised the Fulbright Scholarship program for its contributions to various fields, highlighting the University's scholars' impactful research and policy contributions. She noted that some staff members are Fulbright alumni, and a Fulbright student from the US, Sarah Li, is currently studying at the University's Centre for Cardiovascular Disease.

Brian Neubert commended the University's international collaborations, citing its remarkable track record of contributing to the benefit of students beyond Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of people-to-people ties between the two countries in pursuing common objectives.

The acting director of the University's International Centre, Dr. Nasir Mukhtar, stated that the workshop would equip students and staff with knowledge on applying for research grants and teaching opportunities abroad.
