NSUK Vice-Chancellor Visits Dr. Gbenga Hashim, Secures Commitment for Multi-Million Naira Research Complex

In a strategic push to deepen infrastructure and research capacity, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, paid a high-level courtesy visit to business mogul and statesman, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, in Abuja.

The engagement, which took place on Thursday, 4th June 2026 at Dr. Hashim’s Abuja office, culminated in a strengthened partnership aimed at advancing the university’s research infrastructure and academic development agenda.

During the visit, Professor Liman expressed appreciation on behalf of the university’s Senate and management for Dr. Hashim’s financial support toward the NSUK Research Complex Building Project. She noted that the project is scheduled to commence construction in July 2026 and described his contribution as a significant boost to the institution’s long-term development strategy.

She also highlighted the university’s interest in leveraging Dr. Hashim’s experience across business and leadership ecosystems by inviting him to deliver a public lecture to the university community. The proposed lecture is expected to focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, and national development.

In his response, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Vice-Chancellor for what he described as visible progress and strengthened institutional direction since assuming office.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the Research Complex project, confirming support for its planned July groundbreaking and expressing readiness for deeper collaboration with the university.

Dr. Hashim stated that the initiative represents a foundational step toward positioning NSUK as a stronger centre of academic and research excellence within the region.
