The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the introduction of new full-time academic programmes at the Federal University Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The decision follows a resource verification visit conducted by NUC panels to assess the availability of human and material resources required for the proposed programmes.
The approved programmes for the University’s Main Campus include:
- B.DS. – Dental Surgery
- B.N.Sc. – Nursing Science
- B.OT. – Occupational Therapy
The Commission clarified that the approval applies exclusively to the full-time mode of study. Any plans to offer these programmes on a part-time basis will require a separate application and further approval from NUC.

FUK has been directed to ensure that adequate human and material resources are provided to support the development, quality, and sustainability of these new programmes. Additionally, the approved programmes must adhere strictly to the designated titles and nomenclature; any modifications will require prior authorization from the Commission.
This approval marks a significant step in the University’s efforts to expand its academic offerings and strengthen its capacity to train professionals in critical healthcare fields.
