NWUK Institute of Continuing Education Commences Lectures for Newly Admitted IJMB Students
The Institute of Continuing Education, ICE, of Northwest University Kano, NWUK, has commenced lectures for newly admitted students of the Interim Joint Matriculation Board, IJMB, programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Lectures officially commenced on Monday, 31st August 2026, at the Institute of Continuing Education, Murtala Muhammad Library Campus, Northwest University Kano.
The commencement marks another significant milestone in the University’s commitment to providing quality and accessible educational opportunities to prospective students seeking alternative pathways to university education.
The IJMB programme, administered through the Institute of Continuing Education, provides students with an opportunity to pursue advanced-level studies that can facilitate admission into degree programmes through the Direct Entry route, subject to applicable admission requirements and regulations.
The smooth commencement of the 2026/2027 IJMB academic activities is taking place under the directorship of the Institute, led by Dr. Lawan Idris, whose leadership continues to contribute to the effective coordination and administration of the Institute’s programmes.
The development also highlights the commitment of the Management of Northwest University Kano to strengthening the University’s continuing education programmes and ensuring that students are provided with a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The commencement of IJMB lectures is part of the broader efforts of the University to expand access to quality education and provide diverse academic pathways for students within and beyond Kano State.

The Institute of Continuing Education is expected to sustain the momentum throughout the academic session by providing the necessary academic and administrative support to ensure that students receive quality instruction and are adequately prepared for their examinations.
