Director, Ventures Management, at the National Directorate Headquarters of the NYSC, Prince Momoh Mohammed has paid a visit to the 2023 Batch "B" Stream I corps members currently undergoing Orientation Course in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

Director, Ventures Management, at the National Directorate Headquarters of the NYSC, Prince Momoh Mohammed has paid a visit to the 2023 Batch "B" Stream I corps members currently undergoing Orientation Course in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

Myschoolnews reports Prince Momoh who was at the Camp on a working visit extolled State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa for the implementation of the Pre-orientation workshop which cuts across the dress code of the NYSC, feeding at the camp, acquisition/increment of indoor games, engaging of corps members in lectures and others.

 

The former State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Prince Momoh, commended the corps members for their display of discipline, stating that their adherence to the dress code of the NYSC makes it easier for them to be assessed right from the entrance of the camp.

 

Meanwhile, the Director has enjoined the corps members to avoid fake lifestyle, shun delinquent friends and avoid exciting present which is momentary which can be detrimental to their future. He also advised them to be cautious of their actions and who they engage in the course of the service year. 

 

 

He said "know where you go and the people you go to, so that you won't be at the wrong place at the wrong time, so you won't be with people who are delinquent, so as not to be unfortunate when the law comes visiting." 

 

He advised them to participate in the four cardinal programmes of the scheme, not only to have a smooth service year but to be better persons. 

 

The Director emphasized that the corps members are now grown, who do not need to be looked out for, having transited from dependents to independent persons, who can now take responsibility for their actions. He urged them to always think about their actions and know that they may have implications. 

"Think of the homes you came from. If you are from a rich family, leverage on it to make a name for yourself because when the chips are down, it will be only you," he added. 

 

While concluding his address, he encouraged the corps members to be dedicated, deligent and disciplined in their work as that will equal to successful life.

 

In a separate meeting with the Collaborating Agencies on Camp, Prince Momoh has encouraged them to treat corps members compassionately and humanly, taking them as their wards. He also hinted that the use of emotional intelligence should be deployed while dealing with the corps members especially living by example.

 

On harmonious working relationship, Prince Momoh enjoined the agencies to employ the principle of collective responsibility, and see to the issue of improper dressing among corps members especially on camp.
