OAU Alumni Pledge Generous Equipment Donation to Pharmacy Faculty in Milestone Celebration
As part of the pledge, GIPAA plans to introduce laboratory and drug manufacturing equipment, transforming the faculty into a center of excellence in pharmacy education. A dedicated alumni team, spanning both Nigeria and the Diaspora, will be formed to identify global sources for equipment and facilitators to upgrade the faculty continually.
The Great Ife Pharmacy Alumni worldwide marked the 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), with a commitment to revamp and equip the faculty for enhanced learning experiences.
Global Chairman of GIPAA, Mr Lekan Asuni, announced during the celebration at the Ile-Ife campus the association's determination to utilize its global network. The objective is to "galvanize members to add tremendous value to the faculty, attracting scholars, and mobilizing grants for research and other scholastic endeavors."

Mr Asuni assured students that GIPAA would support them, ensuring a conducive learning environment. He stated, "GIPAA is ready to go to the ends of the earth to ensure that your training in Ife is upgraded and you are provided with the tools you require."

The alumni association has been active since the golden jubilee anniversary of the faculty in 2013, working toward contributing to the faculty's rehabilitation. A key moment in the diamond jubilee celebration was the keynote address by Prof Toyin Tofade, an accomplished scholar and President of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, USA. Prof Tofade discussed the evolution of the pharmacy profession, emphasizing digital innovations and their impact on pharmacy practice and business.
