Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a minimum of five credits in five subjects at no more than two sittings. The mandatory subjects include:
- English Language (required for all courses)
- Mathematics (required for Science and Social Science courses)
- Literature-in-English (required for Law)
Programme Duration
The Pre-Degree Programme spans two contact periods within nine calendar months.

Available Subject Combinations
Candidates can select from the following subject combinations, noting that English Language is compulsory for all:
- Arts: Government/Literature in English/Religious Studies (GLR), Economics/Government/Literature in English (EGL)
- Biological Sciences: Biology/Chemistry/Physics (BCP)
- Physical Sciences: Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics (CMP), Geography/Mathematics/Physics (GMP)
- Social Sciences: Economics/Government/Mathematics (EGM), Mathematics/Geography/Economics (MGE)
These combinations align with the requirements for admission into various degree programmes at OAU.
General Information
- The entrance exam for the Pre-Degree Programme will be computer-based. Familiarity with basic computer use is advised.
- Regularly check the OAU website for updates on the entrance exam date and other important information.
- All candidates must register for the 2023 UTME during the programme.
- Valid email addresses and personal telephone numbers are required for registration.
- Applications must be completed and submitted online within two weeks of accessing the application portal. No physical copies of forms will be accepted.
- The entrance exam will be conducted at the Ile-Ife Centre and a centre in Ikeja, Lagos State.
