The program, held on the 2024 World Sexual Health Day with the theme "Positive Relationship: My Body, My Rights, My Sexual Health," was organized in collaboration with the World Health Organisation.
Dr. Adeniran Ikuomola, represented by Mr. Isaac Aladeniyi of the Ministry of Health, highlighted the increasing rates of sexual abuse and adolescent prostitution, emphasizing the importance of empowering young people with knowledge to prevent such coercion. The pupils were encouraged to understand their rights, maintain positive relationships, and report abuse.
Mrs. Olamide Falana, Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Gender Matters, stressed the need for the children to avoid negative influences and adhere to existing child protection laws. The program aims to foster a safer environment for young people, promoting their well-being and academic success.
