Osun State Polytechnic Iree is mourning the loss of one of its esteemed veterans, Pa Adeyemi Bankefa, who passed away in the early hours of today. Affectionately known as "Uncle B" and "Mr. Paragraph" within the Department of Mass Communication, Pa Bankefa leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service that has profoundly impacted generations of students and colleagues.

Hailing from Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State, Pa Adeyemi Bankefa was a highly respected figure with a career spanning decades. He held a First Degree in History and a Masters in Journalism from the United Kingdom, initially serving at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) before joining what was then The Polytechnic Ibadan, now Osun State Polytechnic Iree.
At OSPOLY Iree, Pa Bankefa's contributions were illustrious. He served as the pioneering Director of Publications and later as the Head of Department of Mass Communication, where his leadership and vision significantly shaped the growth of the institution. Known for his strict yet nurturing teaching style, he mentored countless students and earned widespread admiration for his commitment to excellence.
Mr. Kehinde Alabi, the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, expressed profound shock and sorrow at Pa Bankefa’s passing, describing him as a dedicated staff member, guardian, mentor, and counselor.
