Prof. Eric Eboh Hails UNIDEL’s Legacy of Faith at 56th Monthly Intercessory Prayer Session
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Professor Eric Eboh, has lauded the institution’s enduring prayer culture, describing it as a "sustaining spiritual intervention" that remains pivotal to the university's growth and stability.
Speaking at the 56th edition of the monthly intercessory prayer session held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the 1,000 Capacity Hall, Prof. Eboh expressed deep gratitude for the spiritual foundation that has guided the institution for over five years.
Prof. Eboh paid tribute to the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, for her vision in establishing the prayer programme and ensuring its consistency. He also commended the Intercessory Prayer Committee for their steadfastness.
"My prayer is that God Almighty will continue to bless and take UNIDEL to greater heights," the VC declared, acknowledging the collective effort of the university community in making the tradition a "stunning reality."
Centred on the theme "Fighting a Good Fight of Faith," the guest speaker, Dr. Pst. Jacob Ehiwario, delivered a compelling sermon on spiritual vigilance. He reminded the congregation that the institution’s challenges often transcend the physical realm, requiring "spiritual strategies" such as prayer, righteousness, and transparency.
The event was well-attended by the university’s top hierarchy, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Ijeh, and the Bursar, Dr. Sunny Ikeogwu, alongside a broad section of academic and non-academic staff.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Akporjuvie thanked the university community for their participation and praised Prof. Eboh for his total embrace of the institution’s spiritual legacy.
