Professor Funmi Olúbọ̀dé-Sàwẹ̀ of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has been inducted into the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL). The ceremony, part of the Twenty-Sixth Convocation and Investiture of New Fellows and Conferment of Awards, took place at the University of Lagos.

Professor Olúbọ̀dé-Sàwẹ̀, a distinguished academic in Applied Linguistics and Terminology at the Institute of Technology-enhanced Learning and Digital Humanities (INTEDH) at FUTA, was recognized for her significant contributions to the field. NAL, Nigeria's premier institution for advancing scholarship in the humanities, honored her for excellence in humanistic practice.

A seasoned academic, Professor Olúbọ̀dé-Sàwẹ̀ earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English Language from the University of Ilorin. She joined FUTA in 1990, rising through the ranks from Assistant Lecturer to Professor, a position she has held since 2017. Her research focuses on Terminology Development, Computer-Mediated Communication, and Blended Learning, with over 42 publications to her name.
