Rabi Muhammad Ashiru Makes History as ADUSTECH First Female Professor

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) Wudil, Kano State, Nigeria, proudly celebrates the trailblazing achievement of Professor Rabi Muhammad Ashiru, who has become the institution's first female professor.

A distinguished scholar in Ruminant Nutrition and Animal Science, Professor Ashiru has established herself as a leading voice in her field, with a remarkable portfolio of research and academic contributions. Her work focuses on addressing practical production challenges for indigenous breeds in Northern Nigeria, with a particular emphasis on semi-arid small ruminant production.

Professor Ashiru's impressive academic credentials include a Bachelor of Agriculture, MSc in Animal Science, and PhD in Animal Science. She has supervised postgraduate students, led controlled feeding trials, and contributed significantly to capacity building within her department.

With over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers to her name, Professor Ashiru's research has earned her more than 100 citations on Google Scholar. Her notable publications include studies on biometric analysis of reproductive organs across three sheep breeds in Nigeria and the effects of complete diets containing Piliostigma thoningii leaves on the growth performance and nutrient digestibility of Kano Brown bucks.

Professor Ashiru's achievement is a testament to her dedication to teaching and applied research, particularly in resource-constrained environments.
