RCCG Rose of Sharon Parish Brightens Back-to-School Season with Generous Community Project

The Rose of Sharon Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has spread joy and relief to over 1,000 children through its annual back-to-school community project. Held at the Adekunle Fajuyi Way location, the event provided essential school supplies including bags, books, stationery, socks, food flasks, and water bottles to students from various locations.

The initiative, which also included spiritual ministrations and deliverances to prepare students for a successful academic year, saw the majority of beneficiaries being non-members of the parish. Pastor Mrs. Chichi Obiagwu, head of the Women’s Ministry and wife of the Parish Pastor, explained that the project specifically aimed to support families who cannot afford school supplies, thereby focusing on community impact rather than solely serving parishioners.

To ensure smooth execution and avoid potential stampedes, the event was strategically scheduled on a Saturday and kept confidential until the day of the distribution. Pastor Obiagwu highlighted the church’s commitment to positively influencing society, demonstrating God’s blessings by extending support beyond the parish community.

Deaconess Abisola Kalejaiye, a member of the planning committee, noted that the project has grown significantly each year, reflecting the church's Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) values. “This is the fifth iteration of the project since I joined the church, and it continues to expand,” she said.
