Redeemer’s University Celebrates Alumna Oladoyin Idowu’s Chevening Scholarship and 9-Year Impact

Redeemer’s University proudly spotlights Ms. Oladoyin Idowu, a 2021 Psychology graduate, for her remarkable academic and social impact.

Graduating with a Second Class Upper Division (CGPA: 4.45), Ms. Idowu exemplifies the academic excellence and leadership the University fosters.

We are thrilled to announce that she is now pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath, UK, as a Chevening Scholar—a highly competitive award from the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, with an acceptance rate below 1%. This achievement underscores her outstanding potential and the solid foundation cultivated during her time at Redeemer’s University.

Beyond academics, Ms. Idowu is the founder of the One Word Africa Foundation, a non-profit she established at 17 to champion awareness, acceptance, and empowerment for individuals with dyslexia and other learning differences. Through school outreach, teacher training, and parent education programmes, her foundation has positively impacted thousands of lives across Africa, promoting the principle that “different does not mean less.”

Her journey from a dedicated student at Redeemer’s University to a globally recognized scholar and advocate illustrates the powerful synergy of rigorous academic training and visionary service.
