Sa’adu Zungur University Faculty of Social Sciences Orients Fresh Students on Academic Integrity

 Newly matriculated students of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) have been urged to approach their academic journey with the utmost seriousness and discipline to ensure a successful stay at the institution. 

The charge was delivered during a comprehensive one-day orientation programme organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University’s Yuli Campus.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Musa Adamu Wunti, officially opened the session by characterizing university education as a dual journey of character and academic excellence. He issued a stern warning against social vices that could truncate a student's career, including: 

Cultism and Hooliganism

Examination Malpractice

Anti-social Behaviour

Prof. Wunti emphasized that SAZU maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of misconduct, noting that the orientation was specifically designed to expose students to the institution's "dos and don'ts."

Upholding the Matriculation Oath 

The Registrar, Dr. A. G. Hassan, Ph.D., reminded the freshers of the solemn oath they took during their matriculation ceremony. He advised them to:

Strictly Adhere to university rules and regulations.

Focus on Academic Goals to graduate with commendable results.

Maintain Discipline in their daily interactions on campus. 

To provide a holistic guide to campus life, the programme featured expert presentations on several critical areas:

Examination Rules: Detailed guidelines on conduct during assessments.

Substance Abuse: A lecture on the physical and legal dangers of illicit drug use.

Campus Relationships: Navigating social life responsibly.

Career Development: Identifying pathways for professional growth early in their studies.

The event, coordinated by the Public Relations Unit under Auwal Hassan, serves as a foundational step in integrating the new intake into the university's academic culture.
