Sule Lamido University Receives Full Accreditation for All 13 Undergraduate Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to thirteen undergraduate Programmes of Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK).

This was in line with Section 10 (1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 which empowers the NUC to lay down Minimum Academic Standards for all academic programmes taught in Nigerian Universities and also to accredit such programmes.

The approval which was conveyed to the University vide a letter referenced NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/361 and dated 6th June, 2024 and signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, entails that B.Sc. Computer Science taught in the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT) has gained full accreditation for the second time. In the Faculty of Education, B.Sc. (Ed) Biology, B.Sc. (Ed) Chemistry, B.A. (Ed) English, B.Sc. (Ed) Mathematics and B.Sc. (Ed) Physics also got full accreditation.

SLU gets full accreditation of its 13 foundation programmes

In the Faculty of Humanities B.A. Arabic, B.A. Hausa, B.A. History and International Studies and B.A. Islamic Studies also scaled through the second accreditation process. Other programmes that gained the NUC’s full accreditation were B.Sc. Chemistry, B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc. Physics which are taught in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences.

Describing the success recorded by the University in achieving this victory, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae, disclosed that this was a clear indication that the University is working hard to achieve its mission and vision through ensuring quality education for academic excellence.

It could be recalled that the accreditation process was conducted by the NUC in the University between October and November 2023.
