Taraba State University Advances Agro-Industrial Goals with Launch of Rice and Corn Processing Facilities

The Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Jalingo, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, alongside members of his management team, has officially launched newly acquired rice and corn processing machineries under TSU Bread and Confectionaries Nigeria Limited, aimed at boosting agricultural production and value addition within the University.

The machines commissioned include a corn thresher machine, rice milling machine, and pelletizing machine, all designed to enhance efficient processing. The equipment is capable of producing ten (10) or more bags of processed products per day, significantly increasing output and productivity.

This landmark achievement underscores Prof. Bako’s unwavering commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship development, agricultural innovation, and institutional productivity within the University. It also aligns with the University’s vision of promoting practical skills, self-reliance, and sustainable income generation. 

With the launch of these facilities, Taraba State University can now proudly produce and market TSU Parboiled Rice in 25kg and 50kg bags, as well as TSU Palm Oil packaged in 4-litre containers, further reinforcing the University’s role in agro-industrial development.
