Taraba State University Bans Student Uniforms, Exempts Law, Engineering, and Health Sciences

Taraba State University has approved a ban on student uniforms across most faculties, according to an internal memorandum from the Office of the Registrar dated 22nd June 2026.  

The memo, signed by the Registrar/Secretary to Senate, Joseph U. Bibinu, PhD, stated that the decision was taken by Senate at its 77th Regular meeting held on 22nd June 2026.

The circular addressed to Deans of Faculties, HODs, the Student Affairs Division, and the Security Unit noted that exemptions to the policy apply only to the *Faculties of Law, Engineering, and Health Sciences*.

The memo directed the affected offices to take note of the decision "for your information and necessary actions."  

Copies of the memo were also sent to the Vice Chancellor, DVC (Admin), DVC (Acad), DVC (UDS), SERVICOM, and Quality Assurance.
