Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has established a Directorate of Advancement as part of efforts to strengthen institutional development and align with global best practices in higher education administration.

The new Directorate is expected to enhance the University's long-term growth through strategic resource mobilisation, alumni engagement, endowment development, donor relations, institutional partnerships, and other advancement initiatives aimed at boosting TASFUED's national and international profile.

According to the University management, the Directorate will comprise three specialised units: the Foundation Unit, the Endowment Unit, and the Alumni Unit.

The units will serve as platforms for mobilising financial resources, fostering philanthropic relationships, strengthening alumni engagement, promoting strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable development initiatives across the University.

Following the establishment of the Directorate, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, approved the appointment of Professor Kemi Oriola as the inaugural Director, while Mr. Abayomi Obasan was appointed Secretary of the Directorate.

Professor Oladipo said the creation of the Directorate aligns with his administration's vision of positioning TASFUED for greater relevance, competitiveness, and sustainability through innovative institutional advancement strategies.

He expressed confidence in the competence, dedication, and wealth of experience of the newly appointed officials to provide the leadership required to achieve the Directorate's mandate.

The Vice-Chancellor charged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to attract development opportunities, strengthen the University's Foundation, expand its Endowment, deepen alumni relations, and foster strategic partnerships that will contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of TASFUED.
