The SUG President, Aliyu Idriss Dakasku alongside The SUG Health Director, Pius Iliya Simon Flag Off UNIMAID 2026 Health Week with Campus Health Walk

The Student Union Government, University of Maiduguri Under Aliyu Idriss Dakasku has officially flagged off the 2026 SUG Health Week with a health walk across campus to raise awareness on key health issues.

The program is an initiative of the administration of SUG President, Aliyu Idriss Dakasku and is being fully implemented by SUG Health Director, Pius Iliya Simon.

The awareness walk focused on enlightening students and staff on Mental Health Awareness, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness, Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Cholera Awareness, Malaria Awareness, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Personal Hygiene & Communicable Diseases, Rabies Awareness, Debunking Radiation Panic & Medical Myths, and Safe Medical Imaging During Pregnancy.

According to the organizers, the Health Week is aimed at promoting preventive healthcare, increasing health literacy, and encouraging healthy living within the UNIMAID community.

Other activities including health talks, Football league, medical outreach and many more events will run throughout the week.
