Tragedy Strikes ATBU as Student Dies in Electrocution Accident

The academic community at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi, Nigeria, is mourning the loss of one of its students, Dawum Ceaser Bala, who died in an electrocution accident on April 20, 2024.

According to reports, Dawum, a 300-level student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, was involved in an electrical accident that resulted in his untimely death.

The Nigerian Universities Engineering Students' Association (NUESA) has issued a statement expressing its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.

"Dawum was a bright and promising student who was highly regarded by his peers and lecturers," said Suleiman Ismail Adam, Secretary General of NUESA. "His sudden death is a tragedy that has left us all in shock and grief."

The university administration has also expressed its condolences and has announced plans to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
