Two UNIZIK profs Win £100,000 Royal Academy of Engineering Grant

An Associate Professor of Business Administration and Deputy Director, Unizik Business School, Chinedu Onyeizugbe, along-with his supervisee in the MBA program, Ugochukwu Ifediora have been declared the winners of the Royal Academy of Engineering 22/24 for Higher Education Partnership in Sub-Saharan Africa 22/24 Grant. The Grant is in the tune of £100,000 and would be delivered in tranches.

The project title that was validated by the institute was “Catalyzing the Employability and Entrepreneurial Impact of Nigerian Engineers in the Electricity Industry to Strategically Improve Access to Electricity in Nigeria”.

This award grant is focused towards developing engineering space in Sub-Saharan Africa by upgrading the information, abilities, and employability of African engineering alumni; expand on the examination and advancement capacity of Engineering students of advanced education establishments in Sub-Saharan Africa and restoring connections with industries in order to multiply the positive effect.

While responding to the honor in VCs office, one of the awardees, Dr. Onyeizugbe expressed gratitude to the vice chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Prof. Charles Esimone FAS and the Director, UNIZIK Business School Prof. Emma I. Okoye for the open door and unfaltering help given to him on the grant.

According to Onyeizugbe, the grant will be domiciled in Unizik Business college as shown by the Royal Academy of Engineering to upgrade the perceivability of the school. He seized the occasion to thank the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Esimone and the Director of Unizik Business School, Prof. Emma Okoye for providing the conducive environment that facilitated the grant. He said winning the grant would give the college wide perceivability the world over.

Prof. Esimone, had during the Senate meeting held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, complimented Dr. Chinedu Onyeizugbe and Ugochukwu Ifediora for drawing in such “a gigantic grant” to the university which, he expressed, was in accordance with the project 200 of his administration.

It would be reviewed that occasionally back, Dr. Chinedu Onyeizugbe was among the individuals who pulled in the fifteen million (15,000,000) Naira grant supported by Dr. Obiora Okonkwo (Founder and Chairman of Pro-Value Humanity Foundation) on Strengthening Igbo Entrepreneurial Conduct Through Upgraded Apprenticeship Plan in Onitsha Markets, Anambra state close by; Prof. Au. Nnoyelu (Principal Investigator), Prof. Ezimma Nnabuife, Dr. Rosemary Anazodo and Dr. Favoring Onyima.
