UDUS Appoints New Deputy Vice Chancellors

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has approved the appointment of three Deputy Vice Chancellors (DVCs) to key administrative positions in the institution.

The appointments were ratified during the Council’s 176th meeting held on Wednesday, 1st April, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the university law guiding such decisions.

Those appointed include Professor Muhammad Malami Maishanu from the Department of Business Administration, who will serve as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration). Also appointed is Professor Shehu Usman Gulumbe of the Department of Statistics, who assumes office as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

In addition, Professor Aliyu Jibrin from the Department of Theriogenology and Animal Production has been appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Development).

The appointment are expected to strengthen the administrative, academic, and research capacities of the university as it continues to pursue excellence in teaching, learning, and innovation.

Members of the university community have extended their congratulations to the newly appointed DVCs and expressed optimism for a successful and impactful tenure.
