Umeozor Chukwuzubelu Benedict Emerges as UNILAG 2024/2025 Overall Best Graduating Student with Perfect 5.00 CGPA

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to honor Umeozor Chukwuzubelu Benedict, a male graduate of Business Administration, who has achieved a rare academic feat by securing a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.00/5.00.

He has been named the 2024/2025 Overall Best Graduating Student, as well as the Best Graduating Student in the Humanities category. 

This outstanding achievement will be a highlight of the university's 56th Convocation Ceremonies. 

In the sciences category, Oloton Deborah Isiuwa, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.91 in Architecture, was recognized as the Best Graduating Student in the Sciences for the year. 

The 56th convocation will celebrate the accomplishments of over ten thousand graduates, with a significant number achieving top honors:

First Class Honours: 617 students

Distinction (Bachelors & Postgraduate): 594 students

Second-Class Upper Division: 4,543 students

Second-Class Lower Division: 3,910 students

Third-Class: 1,023 students

Pass: 69 students

In the School of Postgraduate Studies, the University will award:

Postgraduate Diploma Certificates: 479 students (41 with distinctions)

Masters Degrees: 5,148 students (429 with distinctions)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degrees: 119 students
