UNDP Resident Representative Visits NSUK Mining UniPod

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Elsie Gyekyewaa Attafuah, visited the Nasarawa State University (NSUK) Mining UniPod on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to assess the UniPod's progress and readiness for launch.

 

During her visit, Ms. Attafuah was received by key university officials, including Dr. Aisha A. Kana, Ag. Director, NSUK UNDP UniPod, and Prof. M. M. Ari, Dean, SPGS. She was briefed on the UniPod's programming plans and expressed appreciation for the progress made so far.

The UNDP Resident Representative also offered guidance on positioning the UniPod as a regional focal point for the sustainable development of the minerals and mining value chain. This initiative is part of the UNDP's efforts to promote sustainable development and support Nigeria's economic growth.

The NSUK Mining UniPod is one of the seven University Innovation Pods (UniPods) established by UNDP in partnership with Nigerian universities to foster innovation and entrepreneurship . The UniPods are designed to support the development of innovative solutions to address Nigeria's development challenges.
