UNILAG Alumni Inaugurates MIT Alumni Association
Earlier today, the President Worldwide, University of Lagos Alumni Association, Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, FAEng inaugurated the Masters of Information Technology (MIT) Alumni Association at an event held at the Boardroom of University of Lagos Alumni Building.
The President, ably represented by the 2nd National Vice President, Otunba Lekan Ajisafe, received the pro-tem executives of the branch alongside the National Internal Auditor of the Association, Mr. Olatunde Ayadi, FCA, and Acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Seun Badejo. Also in attendance were Ms. Emem Ukpong, Administrative Officer, and Mr. Jeremiah Olatinwo, Digital Media Officer.
In his welcome address, Mr. Lekan Ajisafe noted that the inauguration is a proof of the growth and inclusion agenda of the Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele-led administration. He reminded the newly inaugurated body that the alumni association is a place for giving back to the association and not a place for self-seeking ambitions.

Chairman of the branch, Dr. Nathaniel Ataansuyi noted that although his set was the pioneer set of the department in 2002, Alumni was set up due to yearning and rising need to connect, empower, innovate and contribute to the needs of the Faculty of Computing & Informatics.
Commending the faculty, he noted that it has produced a host of individuals who have become great in their various endeavours including four professors and several Ph.D holders. Dr. Ataansuyi called for more adoption of information technology especially in the age of artificial intelligence.
Renowned professor of Computer Science and scholar, Prof. Florence Oladeji, speaking on behalf of the faculty, hailed the pioneer set for the initiative to join the graduates of the MIT programme to the larger alumni body. She also reeled out the various give back activities of the various alumni sets and departmental alumni in the faculty. She also revealed that the faculty which was etched out of the old Faculty of Science got its operational license as a faculty from the NUC exactly a year ago and assured the Alumni body of its full support anytime.
Copies of the Alumni constitution were handed over to the Chairman of the MIT Alumni by Mr. Lekan Ajisafe and the Oath of office was administered by the National Internal Auditor of the Association, Mr. Olatunde Ayadi, FCA.
