UNILAG Hosts Penn State University Delegation, Explores Strategic Collaborations
A delegation from Penn State University visited the University of Lagos (UNILAG), exploring opportunities for strategic collaborations.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reiterated its commitment to internationalization, emphasizing the importance of global strategic collaborations. This declaration was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, during the visit of a Penn State University contingent on May 29, 2024.

In her welcome address, Professor Ogunsola highlighted UNILAG's dedication to fostering international partnerships. "I am glad that you have come," she said. "As a university, we continuously seek strategic collaborations across the globe. The world is increasingly getting smaller, and we have an internationalization agenda that is not unidirectional. We aim to enhance the pedagogical skills of our staff and students to meet 21st-century demands and address the real challenges of our immediate environment."
The Penn State University delegation, led by Professor Sylvester Osagie, received a warm reception. They were first welcomed at the Faculty of Education by Dean Prof. Bayo Oladipo and the former Director of Quality Assurance, Professor Grace Otinwa, and later at the Office of International Relations, Prospects, and Partnerships (IRPP) by its Director, Prof. Ismail Ibrahim.

Professor Osagie praised the performance of UNILAG alumni in the United States and expressed enthusiasm for potential collaborations. "We are very proud of you and the amazing people that have emerged from UNILAG," he remarked.
The visit provided an opportunity for Professor Ibrahim, Director of IRPP, to present the University of Lagos and outline various collaboration opportunities that could benefit both institutions.
