UNILAG Set to Host Orientation Programme for Fresh UTME and Direct Entry Students

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the commencement of its Orientation Programme and Fair for newly admitted students (UTME and Direct Entry), scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The week-long event aims to familiarize fresh students with the university's academic and social environment while providing essential information for a smooth transition into campus life.

According to the schedule released by the institution, the programme will kick off with an interactive session and an Orientation Fair at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall from 8 a.m. on April 9. This session will provide an opportunity for students to interact with faculty members, administrative staff, and fellow students.

On Thursday, April 10, a Novelty Match will take place at the Sports Centre at 8 a.m., fostering a sense of camaraderie among students. The entertainment segment, featuring the popular ‘Mr. & Miss JAMBITE’ contest, will hold at 2 p.m. at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium.

The interactive session with dignitaries will resume on Friday, April 11, at 9 a.m. at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall. The session will be followed by a Special Jumat Service at the UNILAG Mosque at 1 p.m., catering to Muslim freshers. Later that day, at 3 p.m., the university will hold its official Matriculation Ceremony at the same venue.

To conclude the orientation activities, a Special Thanksgiving Service for Christian freshers will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 9 a.m. at the Chapel of Christ Our Light, UNILAG.

The Orientation Programme and Fair serve as a vital platform for new students to understand the ethos of the university, interact with key stakeholders, and integrate seamlessly into the UNILAG community. The institution encourages all fresh students to participate fully in the scheduled activities.
