UNILORIN: Prof. Abdulbaqi Urges Lecturers to Master Time Management for Academic Success

Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, a distinguished former Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, has called on younger lecturers to master the art of time management to ensure their professional and academic duties are met with excellence.

In an insightful discussion with UNILORIN Bulletin, Prof. Abdulbaqi emphasized the importance of balancing teaching, service, and community engagement. She advised younger academics to focus on the three critical categories of publication: local, national, and international. "Young lecturers must excel in local publications, maintain a strong presence in national journals, and stay updated internationally," she stated.

Prof. Abdulbaqi, also a Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), stressed the need for high-quality publications over quantity. "Having 100 publications that do not advance one's career is futile. Quality over quantity is key to progression," she remarked.
