UNIMAID Acting VC Receives FRCN DG, Pledges Collaboration

 The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele, received the Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama, in his office.

Dr. Bulama, also Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the UNIMAID Alumni Association, briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the committee's efforts to reposition the Alumni Association and foster a cordial working relationship between the university and FRCN.

The DG emphasized the importance of synergizing the university's academic activities with FRCN's resources to enhance teaching, learning, and research. He also highlighted the need to revamp academic activities and create avenues for internally generated revenue (IGR) to support the university's growth.

Prof. Shehu Mustapha Liberty, Director of Partnerships, Linkages, and Alumni Affairs, informed the Vice-Chancellor that the university's Golden Jubilee Celebration is approaching in 2025 and urged early preparations for a successful event.

In response, the Acting Vice-Chancellor thanked the DG for the visit and expressed willingness to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FRCN to nurture a formidable relationship between the two organizations. He also highlighted the university's plans to launch a digital television station to complement its radio station.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties between UNIMAID and FRCN, leveraging each other's resources for mutual benefit.
