UNIMAID College of Medical Sciences Holds 13th Combined Induction Ceremony

The University of Maiduguri's College of Medical Sciences held its 13th combined induction ceremony for graduates of Allied Health programs on May 26, 2025.

The ceremony, attended by faculty members and university officials, marked a significant milestone for 364 graduating students.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, represented by Professor Yakubu Mukhtar, congratulated the graduates and acknowledged the university's commitment to providing necessary facilities and supporting staff development. The graduating class included 88 Medical Laboratory Scientists, 89 Medical Radiographers, 56 Medical Rehabilitation graduates, and 131 Nursing Science graduates.

The Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Professor Mohammed Bukar, commended the university management for its support and encouraged the graduates to uphold professional ethics and treat patients with respect and dignity. The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Professor Yusuf F. Mamza, highlighted the university's investment in staff development and infrastructure upgrades.

The valedictory speech was delivered by Abdulrahman Ahmad, the best graduating student from the Department of Radiography, who encouraged his peers to positively impact others and view failure as a stepping stone to greater achievement. Awards were presented to the best graduating students in each department.
