In a statement dated February 10, 2026, the SUG emphasized that the move is intended to ensure prompt intervention and necessary repairs. Students experiencing power issues are required to provide detailed information, including hostel name, block, floor, and room number, to facilitate effective follow-up.
Affected students can submit their details through the Welfare Director at +234 814 205 5089, the Social Director at +234 812 823 3234, or any other SUG executive.

The union reassured students that their welfare remains a top priority, and all reported electricity-related concerns will be addressed promptly. The SUG also expressed gratitude to students for their cooperation and understanding as efforts continue to resolve the situation.
