UNIPORT VC Backs NITDA Partnership to Advance Digital Transformation
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Prof. Chike Princewill, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to digital transformation and technological advancement in the university.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Prof. Chike Princewill, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to digital transformation and technological advancement in the university.

The Vice-Chancellor gave the assurance on Monday, August 31, 2026, when he received a delegation from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) on a courtesy visit.
The delegation, led by the Director of the Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering (CITE), Prof. Eseosa Omorogiuwa, congratulated Prof. Princewill on his recent appointment and reaffirmed NITDA’s support for his administration.
The Head of the NITDA South-South Zonal Office, Mr. Preye Itonyo, called for greater partnership and cooperation between the agency and the university, particularly in the areas of digital literacy, research and development.
Itonyo also expressed NITDA’s willingness to collaborate with the university towards building a more digitalised university community.

Responding, Prof. Princewill assured the delegation of the university’s support and expressed his readiness to collaborate with NITDA in advancing digital literacy, research, innovation and other initiatives aimed at strengthening the university’s digital transformation agenda.
