University of Abuja Students Union Opposes Proposed Name Change

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Abuja has issued a statement strongly opposing the purported change of the institution's name.

In a statement signed by the SUG President, Abdullahi Bashir Muhammad, the union expressed its collective stance against the proposed name change, citing potential emotional and psychological trauma to students, alumni, staff, and the wider community.

While acknowledging the Federal Government's intent, the SUG emphasized its unwavering opposition to the proposed name change, stating that it will not be accepted without ambiguity.
