University of Jos Leaps to 9th Position in 2026 National University Rankings

 In a historic academic milestone, the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has secured the position of the 9th best university in Nigeria, according to the newly released Times Higher Education (THE) Nigeria University Rankings 2026. 

The institution recorded an extraordinary ascent, jumping from the 23rd position in previous rankings to break into the national top ten. In achieving this 9th-place ranking, UNIJOS surpassed several prominent institutions, including the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and Babcock University. 

The ranking highlights a period of "serious academic growth and recognition" for the university, reflecting improvements in research output, teaching quality, and international outlook. 

"UNIJOS is proving that greatness is not about noise, it’s about results," stated university observers following the announcement. The leap is being celebrated across the "J-Town" community as a testament to the institution's commitment to excellence on a global scale.
